Contacts for Taliaferro County Records

Taliaferro County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or has been released, pull an official booking record or photo, release anyone, post bond, or act for a caller. Definitive answers must come from the government office that created or holds the record.

Where Taliaferro Records Are Held

The right contact depends on the custody stage. Taliaferro County operates no county jail, and the current official directory does not publish a jail telephone, jail administrator, dedicated records line, email address, office hours, or local fee schedule. The Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Tia M. McWilliams, is the first local source for the arrest event and the identity of the receiving facility.

Receiving detention facility

Taliaferro has no county jail. Wilkes County is documented as a historical and recent receiving path, including a 2023 GBI-reported case, but it is not a guaranteed destination for every arrest.

Ask TCSO where the person was transferred before using another county’s custody channel. No current receiving-jail phone number is published in the supplied Taliaferro research.

Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office is the official facility source when TCSO confirms Wilkes.

Use the path below for the question being asked. A receiving-jail roster answers present physical custody, TCSO answers for its arrest records, the court answers for the case outcome, and GDC answers for state-sentenced custody.

  • Arrest report, booking sheet, or booking photo: ask TCSO for existing records at 758 Warrenton Road SE or PO Box 97, Crawfordville, Georgia 30631. Call 706-456-2345 or fax 706-456-2347 to confirm the current written-request method. The Taliaferro County records and mugshot path explains how to narrow the request.
  • Current custody or release: call TCSO first, identify the receiving jail, then use that jail’s official custody channel. A person may be released or transferred before a roster is updated, and Wilkes County should not be assumed without case-specific confirmation.
  • Warrant or wanted question: use the TCSO office and 24/7 line, 706-456-2345, and the relevant court or clerk. The Most Wanted Fugitives page explains why absence from a selective list does not clear a warrant.
  • Court case or disposition: start with Georgia Courts E-Access, select Taliaferro Superior Court, and follow its PeachCourt route. The directory states that an account is required. Use the court record for what happened after the booking allegation.
  • State-sentenced prisoner or GDC record: use Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender. It is not a recent Taliaferro arrest list, and a photograph appears only when GDC has one available. For a records request, use GDC Open Records or verify with Inmate Records and Information, PO Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029.
  • Federal or immigration custody: use the BOP Inmate Locator for federal custody or the ICE Online Detainee Locator for ICE or CBP custody. Those systems are separate from TCSO and do not supply a local booking-photo search.
  • Alerts or city-created records: Georgia VINELink provides custody notifications, while MySheriff provides Taliaferro agency alerts and tips, not a verified inmate or photo lookup. For municipal records created by a city, Crawfordville City Hall is listed at 706-456-2605 and Sharon City Hall at 706-456-2273.

A written Georgia Open Records Act request should name the person, approximate arrest date, record categories, and any known incident number. TCSO publishes no local fee schedule. State rules provide an initial response framework of no more than three business days, make the first fifteen minutes of search and retrieval free, cap ordinary copies at ten cents per page, allow an estimate when expected costs exceed $25, and permit prepayment above $500. Ask for electronic copies and a cost estimate before production begins. Those statewide rules do not guarantee that a record or photo exists or can be released.
